Forget about Twitter being the tool for geeks and bloggers; it’s now mainstream.
Yup, the Wall St. Journal has a lengthy feature story that explains Twitter and why it’s become so popular.
It is interesting that the article doesn’t talk about Twitter’s lack of a business model. You figure the Wall St. Journal would give that some attention.
One thing that did out was how Zappos, the online shoe retailer, has more than 450 employees using Twitter to communicate internally. Twitter should really launch a corporate version but, then again, there’s a lot of things Twitters should do.
Update: Jon Burg offers a critique on what the WSJ did right and wrong in its coverage. As well, The Independent’s Rhodri Marsden wonders if Twitter has reached critical mass.
