Big in Japan: Twitter Groups

First, Twitter unveiled advertising in Japan; now, it has launched a feature called Twicco that lets people create, subscribe and join groups.

Perhaps this is a small step by Twitter to get into the enterprise market given it looks like a way to provide collaboration tools within business groups and units. It’s a concept that could get even more interesting if Twitter offer file-sharing capabilities (something along the lines of what Pownce has) so employees could share documents.

For more, check out Loic Le Meur, who has a video showing people using Twicco. TechCrunch also has some thoughts, while Svetlana over at Profy provides some good insight.
