ReachWriteWeb believes Twitter may have found a new business model with its new “suggested friend” feature that it seems every social networking service is embracing these days.
RWW suggests that the few feature ” is a natural place to sell friend connections between users and companies wanting to communicate with them”. The idea is if you want to follow someone, you would pay a fee.
It’s an intriguing idea but, frankly, I wouldn’t pay to follow anyone – and I’m not convinced that business types such as marketers would pay either.
I realize that Twitter is scrambling to find ways to make money but getting people to pay for friends/followers isn’t it.

*facepalm* The idea is that Twitter suggests companies' feeds to new users, and charges the companies if the user agrees to follow them. You seriously thought they wanted you to pay for the priveledge of following the companies?
Well, that makes more sense so thanks for the insight. I guess it's sort of like AdSense in some respects. Interesting.
