Twitter 101 from David Pogue

In case you had any doubts that Twitter is moving closer to the mainstream, the New York Times’ David Pogue had a column this week: “Twittering Tips for Beginners”.

While I’d a big Twitter fan, I’m not sure Twitter is poised to become a mainstream tool. I think it has broad appeal to particular groups but anyone who think it’s could be become as popular as instant-messaging may be disappointed.

Of course, I could be totally wrong!

    I'd tend to agree. Most simply don't see any user for Twitter. However, Pogue's article shows an excellent application of the tool. I don't know what the definition of mainstream is but I don't think the average Y! messenger user is going to be interested. At least not yet.
