A growing number of companies are climbing on the Twitter bandwagon. If you’re looking for a directory of who’s on Twitter, check out Twibs, which features almost 5,000 companies.
Twibs lets you search for a company, get information (e.g. Web site, corporate description), and follow the company. As well, you can send a Tweet to a company via Twibs, and add a company to the directory.
Twibs strikes me as something Twitter should be offering as a value-added to corporate users, advertisers and users. I could see Twibs charging a fee for featured placement, or the ability to add more information other than a short description, URL and e-mail address.
