Same here. I don't know why, but for me it's easier using twitter.com, I'll have it open in the background when I'm browsing, and only use it occasionally. If I used a client, I'd have to load it up and wait for it to get going, before typing a sentence and shutting it down. Just seems a little bit pointless to me…

You write ‘it seems like a no-brainer’ EXACTLY! It’s an idea from a person without a brain. Twitter’s ecosystem would be dead within no time if they charged third-party developers for access to the API.

Even Microsoft wouldn’t be so daft as to charge for access to their API. Quickest way to alienate your developer community and kill yourself in the process.

I guess I am in the minority
I use Twitter.com as opposed to a client
And love it!
I can't be the only one
As far as Why I don't use a client?
For me it's like looking at though a Porthole
I feel more in touch using a Web interface
I know, just a dumb Hippie
But that's how I roll!
