Jakob Nielsen on Twitter

Jakob Nielsen, one of the world’s leading user-interface experts, talked to BusinessWeek about Twitter. Among his thoughts are that:

- CEOs shouldn’t use Twitter because everything they say and write is closely scrutinized, and that 140 characters is hardly enough room to article their thoughts and strategic vision.
- While there’s no guarantee that Twitter will stick around, Nielsen believes microblogging has a bright future because it provides the ability to “post updates with low overhead and to follow a concise stream of updates”.
- Twitter is a productivity-killer: “If you care about productivity, don’t check your Twitter feed while you’re trying to get work done.”
