Tracking Your Time on Twitter

TwiTip is running a poll about how much time people spend on Twitter.

It got me thinking about the need for a service that can track your daily Twitter usage. The trick would be being able to tell when you were actually looking at Twitter.com, TweetDeck, Seesmic, et al as opposed to how long you had the application running in the background.

Personally, I probably spend an hour or so a day on Twitter when I’m working from home. When I’m away from the office, it ranges from 0 to 30 minutes depending on how meetings are happening.

The upside is when I’m not able to check Twitter or post updates, there’s no guilt involved. I see Twitter as a parade. If you miss some floats because you’re getting ice cream or talking to someone, you may have missed something, but there’s plenty more floats coming along soon.
