How Far is Your Twitter Reach?

Like a lot of people, I’m a big fan of sharing links to interesting content and Web sites on Twitter. In fact, my followers are heavily skewed to people who like to share a lot.

One thing I wonder about is how far the links offered up for general consumption get distributed. When you see someone ReTweet a link, how do you measure the total audience is might be reached.

One way of measuring distribution is TweetReach, which provides a snapshot of how Twitter users have access to a link that you provided. To start, enter a URL, phrase or hashtag that you’ve Tweeted.

After some Twitter-crunching, TweetReach spits out the total reach of your link, the people who ReTweeted it, and a pie chart showing how many people saw how many Tweets.

TweetReach is an interesting service that could be more compelling if it provided information about how many times the link was clicked on and who did the clicking.
