Hi Mark. Obviously the reasons someone unfollows another is personal but many of your points rang true with me. Ironically, tweeting about cats (even imaginary ones) seem to draw a lot of attention and followers. Check out this NYT article about Mary Hodder and her cats. Apparently, Sockington the cat now has over 800,000 followers. http://bit.ly/pAy4H

Oh and if I may add something, I found the text after tip #5 to be very interesting indeed. could I think of another reason to unfollow someone? how about because they create a ton of marketing spam on your page and you are sick of reading that crap? I know that's the biggest reason I block and or unfollow someone, but hey what do I know? I'm just one of those boring REAL people.

so basically people shouldn't be REAL, and should just use twitter as a marketing tool? well in that case maybe they shouldn't call it a social networking site. some people are simply on Twitter because it's a fun place to hang out.

6. Write for your own blog but make it just another dumb list.

7. Ask for comments cause you know there will be that one jerk that makes fun of the list by adding more stupid points.
