Within the Twitter ecosystem, the demand for analytics is growing by leaps and bounds as companies attempt to get a better handle on how to interpret and act upon what’s happening on Twitter.
An interesting service is TweetEffect, which aims to provide insight into how many people started follow you or left you after you made specific tweets. The idea is you get a better idea about what resonates with Twitter users, and what drives them away.
In theory, it sounds like a good idea but I’m not convinced TweetEffect has really nailed it. For example, TweetEffect suggests that I lost 19 followers after publishing the URL for a presentation I did on tools for Twitter. Now, you would think this kind of post would attract Twitter users, rather than cause them to leave.
TweetEffect is a free service so you giving it a whirl is easy but don’t expect to be blown away.
This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.
