There’s a variety of ways to rank the popularity of particular tweets – some such as Topsy do it by the number of retweets (RTs), while some such as tweetmeme focus on the most popular links.
Another approach is taken by Tweetply, which ranks the popularity of tweets based on the number of replies they generate. To be honest, I’m not convinced this offers a particularly relevant or interesting take on tweets worth reading but it’s definitely a different view of the Twittersphere.
