Sency: A No-Frills Real-Search Tool

There are lots of search tools for Twitter so how does a new player differentiate itself?

Sency hopes to do it by offering a no-frills, real-time search engine. While Sency doesn’t have many bells and whistles, it is looking to compete with players such as Twazzup, Scoopler and Searchtastic by providing a tool that provides results on what’s happening right now.

Sency’s home page features two columns: “What’s Going On Now” and “What’s Going on Lately” – both of which show the most talked about keywords. You can also search for any keywords using the search box at the top.

For search results, Sency offers options to share them via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.

Bottom Line: Sency is an interesting project that will live or die on whether users need or want real-time search results. The company hopes to expand its appeal by moving into search based on what’s happening in different cities.
