Want to see the top trends on Twitter by location? One option is Trendsmap, which does a pretty impressive job of displaying what people within a particular city, region or country are talking about.
For example, here’s what Trendsmap displays for Toronto. The biggest trending topic is the iPhone4, which was finally made available in Canada. The graphic below shows the most recent tweets coming from Toronto about the iPhone4
Trendsmap also displays a list of other trending topics, which can be expanded to show the most recent tweets.
Trendsmap also shows the Twitter users who weekly top-rated Twitters in Toronto, although it seems a bit off given Kayne West and Pete Cashmore don’t live in Toronto.
Bottom Line: A useful tool to see what’s being said about by Twitter users about a particular city.

Hi Mark – Robert from Trendsmap here. Thanks for the great review. To clarify how the Top People section works, these refer to people who are most frequently tweeted about in a particular location, rather than people from that location. We'll update the wording on that to make it clearer.
