Blast Off to Follow Lots of New People

One of the challenges in using Twitter is finding interesting and/or relevant people to follow. It can be a time-consuming process, depending on how many people you’re looking to follow.

An interesting tool to follow lots of people quickly is BlastFollow, which bills itself as a service to follow Twitter users who share your interests en masse”.

BlastFollow is based on hashtags. It identifies people talking about a particular hashtag (e.g. #chocolatecake):

Then, you log into Twitter:

After logging in, BlastFollow automatically gets your Twitter account to follow them. Depending on the hashtag, BlastFollow could add hundreds or thousands of new friends in seconds.

For people looking to quickly add a lot of Twitter friends, BlastFollow could be an effective service. For people who want to selectively add people or have some control over the people that BlastFollow discovers, BlastFollow is not for you. One feature that would make BlastFollow interesting to more people is providing a list of potential new friends before it adds them. This would let people de-select anyone who looks like a spammer.

Bottom Line: For people who want to follow a lot of people, regardless of their value, BlastFollow has lots of value.

Ranking: 6/10

I would be very careful using Blast Follow. It might get you suspended. Check the facts first.
