Another Tool to Find Mo’ Followers

Twitter captured a lot of attention recently for rolling out a new feature that suggests followers based on your interests and people that you already follow. The surprising thing is how long it took Twitter to get into the space given it’s chock-a-block with competitors such as Mr. Tweet.

Another interesting player in the suggested follower market is Mofollow, which analyzes your Twitter follow to provides a list of 100 people who might be worth following. The recommendations can be filters by most matches, most influential, most friend, most followers and most tweets.

For me, Mofollow suggested that I follow @shitmydadsays, Stephen Colbert (@stephenathome), Bill Gates (@billgates), Andrew Coyne (@acoyne), a Canadian political writer, and Steve Pakin, a news anchor. To be honest, the top three suggestions are of no interest given my interests, the people I follow, and the content of my tweets.

Bottom line: Another player in the increasingly crowded suggested follow space. Mofollow has a user-friendly interface and the different filtering options is a good feature.

Rating: 6/10 – could be higher if the matches were more relevant.
