GroupTweet: Private Groups Within Twitter

One of the fascinating things about Twitter is how the API is being embraced by thousands of companies in different and creative ways.

One service that caught my attention recently was GroupTweet, which makes it possible to create private groups to use Twitter as a platform to communication and share information using private messages.

GroupTweet’s approach is pretty simple. Let’s say a group of people within a company or an organization want to use Twitter to exchange messages. They would create a Twitter account, and then activate it on GroupTweet. Each member of the group would follow the new account, and the account would follow everyone else back.

If someone within the group wants to send a message, they would send a DM to the group account, and then the message would then be sent to the entire group.

Unlike most Twitter-related services, GroupTweet offers a free and premium service, which costs $4.99/month. It offers faster delivery of messages, the ability to moderate messages, and priority support.

Thanks Mark for highlighting our company. We are in the process of developing new features that we think will make the service even more useful for our users. Stay tuned and hopefully we will be able to introduce these features soon!
