MentionMap: Discovering “Relevant” Friends

One of the biggest challenges for Twitter users is finding new people to follow. There are no lack of solutions but nothing has really cracked the nut yet. An interesting approach is being taken by MentionMap, which displays an explorable network to see the most “relevant” people for a particular Twitter user.

By clicking on someone within a network, you can see information about them, and check out their Twitter profile. In an ideal world, it would be great to quickly follow someone without leaving MentionMap.

Here’s a network for Econsultancy, which is one of my favorite Twitter “friends”.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the write up! Noticed a potential issue with the embedded version of Mentionmapp. Let us know if you have any questions. As well, we're prepping to test our new version, and we'll be happy to send you an invite.
    Best regards

    John & the Mentionmapp.com team.
